Mika was born in Buffalo, NY in the summer of 1986 to two artists and fashion designers Christopher Lee and Dinah Lee Brazelton. She was raised in a creative environment beginning by preschool in Laguna Beach, CA where she was taught multiple languages, weaving, drawing with pastels, painting and the beauty of creating art and using her imagination. She spent many days of her childhood at her parents retail clothing store and sewing studio. There she was shown how to use a needle & thread, work sewing machines and how to manipulate fabric and material. In High School her focus was art and studied web and graphic design, film photography, drawing and painting with acrylics. She went on to study makeup and hair design as well as receiving her Welding certification. As a young adult she struggled to find a way to make her art a career but continued to create art and music as a way of life. She participated in an underground newspaper in Chicago, IL, creating their logos and screen printed merchandise. as well as making logos and flyers for bands and live events. She took her music on tour to the east coast and recorded many albums, solo and with bands.
She moved on to manage her parents boutique, "Gallery of Wearable Art" in Cambria, CA for many years. In that time she had her first working sewing studio and began to make unique one of a kind dresses and began her exploration with print making, knitting and natural dying. In 2019 she moved to New Mexico and at her home studio began to play with pattern making and repurposing vintage clothing and evolved into making a variety of custom clothing, making alterations and repairs for friends and locals. Moving to Taos County in 2021 she co-founded a collective Art Gallery, Studio space and DIY Music Venue where she curates gallery shows and designs flyers for promoting events. She started studying at UNM Taos to receive her certificate in Graphic Design, works full-time as a freelance seamstress for a traditional weaving company in Chimayo, NM, in the summer she sets up her one of a kind art and clothing at open air markets and works year round for private clients creating custom designs.
